Note: individual channels can currently be assigned to an arbitrary other channel (ie, you can assign the first fader on page 2 - channel 17 - to actually control the Aux 1 input). I propose a firmware improvement where a channel on the board (for me, the M32, but presumably even more useful on the more compact varieties) can be assigned to a linked pair of channels. I'm also curious if others might also appreciate the feature. If there's a more formal place for this submission, please redirect me. When you say “get a different sound” exactly what do you mean by that? The solution might be to setup a Snippet or 2 of them and toggle between them on the foot switch. I just did a Google search and there are programmable Midi foot controllers available. I know a lot about the Midi in these mixers but I don’t know anything about programmable foot switches except that there is a company Midi Solutions that makes programmable devices that include on that can interface to a contact closure foot switch. The Midi commands in the mixer will do specific things it is the Foot switch itself that needs be able to be changed (programed) to send the commands that will be recognized by the mixer. You will need a Midi Foot switch that can be programed to send a particular MIDI command or commands. This link should take you to the Midi Implementation for the X32/M32 mixers.
